HAPPY BELATED 2009

Well it's been some time since I posted way back in 07! And what a ride it has been. Below is a summary of the past year. I'll keep it brief as my intention is to use this blog to keep you posted over the next few months as I train and raise money for my Kilimanjaro Charity Climb in September. More info at the bottom of this post.

After China in 07, I think my world was centred around work. My biggest challenge of the year was producing the adidas Originals campaign for Fall Winter 07. One of the films was the history of Adi Dassler. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fFGOF32iW4

Then it a months rest was required. Off to Australia for Sarah and Dave's amazing wedding and back through HK.

After that campaign it all went a bit quiet on the work front at 180 so I decided to do something about it and move (after a 2 week sailing trip around Southern Spain & Morocco) to Wieden + Kennedy, Amsterdam.

Wieden + Kennedy has been fantastic. There are a myriad of opportunities to work on great creative. Since joining in June 08, it's been non stop. Producing 5 films for Nike Women- 1 of the films 'Nicola Sanders' has already won an Epica Gold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRlIZVeNI1k

Then in December it was on to Cape Town to produce 2 wierd and wonderful films for a Greek pastry company- Vivartia. One spot featuring an animatronic deer mechanic and the other spot debuting a vacuuming parrot. I'll upload when they have gone live.

At Christmas it was off to Singapore and Bali with Joakim and his family. It was a holiday with 2 dimensions of Asia. The structured capitalist culture, slightly boring city of Singapore to the chaotic, beauty of Bali. I loved it there.

Then back to Amsterdam to finish of the post on the Deer and Parrot spots. Then swiftly off to Istanbul to film a Nike Turkey spot with the national football stars and coach.

Now it's time to try and get my head focused on raising money for to climb Kilimanjaro. Well actually, I'm paying for the trip (flight and climb) the challenge is to raise at least 2.5k for my chosen charity- Diabetes. This I hope to raise through sponsorship. My cousin died way to prematurely at 36 last year, and in his memory I have chosen this challenge.

So I started to gradually train. Apparently you don't have to be an athlete, but physically and mentally fit. As I live in the land of the flat, I hope you understand that it's going to be quite a fair challenge to find a darn hill to practice on. In May, as a tester and to raise initial money, my father at a young 69, my father's good friend Archie and I will climb Ben Nevis. Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the UK at 1344 Metres.

But the mighty Kilimanjaro is at a daunting 5895Metres!

If you want to sponsor me and my father please go to http://www.justgiving.com/catreynolds

Every euro and pound is valuable and will go towards Diabetes research and care.

I'll keep you posted (keep hassling) you. Till next month. Take care.
