A new adventure in San Francisco

Wow.  So we have been in San Francisco for nearly 2 months. The weather when we arrived was incredibly kind. The past week or so have been pretty wet and windy.

It has taken sometime to feel like blogging, but here goes. We left Amsterdam on Thursday 3rd February after packing up our things and two cats.

Many people ask about the cats and how they handled the 12 hour flight plus all the time too and from the airport. Our cats are rock stars! Boris and Milla were absolutely fine. The rock star cats even managed to hold themselves from toilet duties until we arrived at the apartment.
Milla. Week 2 in SF.

Boris. Week 2 in SF.

View from the Nob Hill Apartment
We spent a month at the Nob Hill (yes unfortunate name) corporate apartment. It was the size of a shoe box but had the most incredible views out over downtown and the bay. The apartment was a swift downhill walk to the office, but an arduous climb on the way back. After 7 years in the flatlands of Amsterdam, my calves and butt were having a great workout.

View to the left of my desk, over to Coit Tower.
Work has been somewhat of an adjustment. From an agency of 120 to Goodby Silverstein and Partners with around 700 people, spread over 4 buildings. My department alone is around 40 producers. The broadcast department is currently situated on Montgomery and Clay. The view from my desk is the bay and Coit Tower to the left and the Transamerica tower straight in front.

The sunset from our place.
All is coming together. So now I can find my fingers as well as feet and start to update my blog on life from San Francisco.
The priority when we arrived was to find an apartment we would love, and after a few weeks of stumbling through Craigslist we finally  found a wonderful space downtown in a loft on Mint Plaza. It was great to find a place so quickly now we spend the weekends looking for furniture rather than flats. Here is our apartment from the outside. It's an old warehouse downtown with a few restaurants on our door step and the dangerous zone of shopping on Market Street just 50 steps away.
